Anyone notice how this forum has seemed to go downhill since all the new feeds and misc BS started showing up on the forum. If I wanted to read the news, I would go to one of the news sites. This was pretty much a racing forum when I joined, but the only reason I still sign on is due to occasional news from some of the friends I know on here and others that I have met.

Goduster, just seems like nobody has anything to say lately and all of the bitching going on about FB has died down.

Personally I'm looking forward to the next FB team race which happens to be the National Dragster Challange. Hope I can drive the stripe better than the last outing.

Plus the heat of summer probably has most people thinking of tubing rather than drag racing.

Ok there is my post for the evening, whos next.

I just got back from Pinetop Friday. I think that's downhill. Had honeydews this weekend as wife was at sisters all week in Sierra Vista.
She left this afternoon to go back. Sisters not doing well. Has cancer and nothings working. After she left I worked on the car a bit, then took my
70 Maverick out of the trailer and put the 71 Grabber in for Firebird next Saturday. Put in the fuel jugs and everything else. Ready to go.

I know I have not had much to say lately. I've been trying to get my car back together and it seems there is always something or someone that holds me up. I was going to weld up my headers this weekend but when I called Friday to get my flanges that were supposed to be done on Thursday no one answered the phone.. The guy delivered them today about 2:30 and I had to be somewhere at 3:30. So it will be another week until I can get the car back in the shop and get that done. Oh well, maybe that will be enough time that I can get my pinch clamp adapters back from the place I dropped them off at 2 weeks ago to be angle milled..

I'll be out at the track as quick as I can..

Up until yesterday I didn't have anything to weld up. I still may have to get you to weld them up though. I borrowed a tig for the weekend but had to give it back last night night.

The farther I get with this project the more I wish I would have just thrown a blower on it and been done with it. Started out just freshening up the engine and throwing a better set of heads on it to get it down in the 7's. 7 months and $8000 later I now have a 15:1 434 small block with 15 degree heads. I think my next purchase will be a 8-71 just so I have it when I'm ready to go faster in a couple of years.

If everyone just stops by to see what is going on and then leaves, how could anything be happening?

My life is pretty much crap at the moment so I try not to type too much. I abandoned the weld up header kit idea after ordering a set with specific instructions to give the tubes a 5 degree sweep away from the body because running turnouts on a merge collector just isn't that great of an idea. Headers show up with the requested 5 degree sweep, but they are swept the wrong way and they did not remember that I am running a 4-7 swap camshaft so the tubes are not in the right position either. Rather than cut them all apart I sent them back and am waiting for Greg up at REF to receive my earnest money so I can schedule an appointment. Earliest date I can get is the 20th.

Factor in my Old man slowly trying to kill himself by not listening to anyone and Mom being pissed off about it all the time, I'm pretty close to the edge every day.. Life will be a little better when that 7 second pass gets here..

Good luck with overcoming all the problems. I'm going through some similar stuff. May have to miss this weekends race. We're taking it day by day at this time.
My wife has been staying at her younger sisters in Sierra Vista for the last 2 weeks. I may have to go that way after work tomorrow. She may only have a few days left.
